“I almost don’t want to give Polentoni a five-star review -- because then everyone will know how special it is. This isn’t just one of my favorite places in Edinburgh to grab lunch. It’s genuinely one of my favorite places, full stop. First: the owners are two of the kindest, most genuinely lovely humans you’ll ever meet. Every interaction with them is a pleasure, and it’s clear they care deeply, not just about the food, but about the people and the community around them. That warmth is real, and you feel it the moment you walk in. Second: the food! Truly, everything I’ve had has been exceptional. There’s one sandwich in particular with olive tapenade and polenta on focaccia that honestly makes me want to cry tears of joy. It’s that good. What I love most is that it’s always changing and it’s always fresh. I find myself walking by regularly just to see what they have that day, because it’s exciting to return again and again. I’m genuinely thrilled to be close enough now to make their food part of my regular rhythm.”

Good range of options—e.g. gnocchi, pizza, focaccia, etc.—with variation from day-to-day, but always with something nice made from quality ingredients. Well priced given the standard.”
