What customers say

After several very happy years with our largely self-built camper, we decided it was time for an upgrade to something that would make our trips a little more comfortable; like being able to stand up, having a heater and maybe some water other than a 12L plastic container. We looked at a lot of ready-made vans, but they were all either too expensive, too flimsy or had some basic design issue that meant they weren’t right for us. Then we came across Born Wild vans. We immediately loved the homely and original style of their vans and the flexibility of the service they offered really appealed. Dan was brilliant from the outset. He listened patiently to our very specific requirements and offered lots of sensible and practical suggestions. His default response seemed to be ‘Yeh, we can do that.’ Most importantly he was happy for us to do some of the basic work ourselves, which really helped us stick to budget. He was also happy to work with the materials and equipment we sourced, which further helped us control costs and the final look of the van, although I don’t think he will be using the wall fabric we picked ever again! We were very pleased with the van when we collected it, and Dan encouraged us to go and use it and make sure that we were happy with everything. After a two-week trip around Ireland we felt very comfortable and happy with the van but had a small snagging list and wanted to make a few minor modifications. Dan was more than happy to deal with all that and did so very promptly. We are delighted that we now have a beautiful van that will let us be comfortable in summer and winter for many years to come. Thank you, Dan! Charlie & Wendy

I forgot to leave a review for the work the boys done to my van a few months back. The work was the installation of a fiama f45s awning rail, using a slight different kit than usual and a swivel seat base for my VW transporter. The guys done a fantastic job and even gave me a lift to the train station after I dropped the van off. What a lovely personal service. I plan on visiting again soon for some more minor adjustments, the guys here are awesome. Keep up the good work lads.

I had been searching for a company to build me a van for quite a while. I was looking for something specific, and catered for my needs and the fact that I have 2 dogs that come everywhere with me. I couldn't find anyone that was interested in doing an entirely bespoke build, until I spoke to Daniel and David. They said yes to all my wacky ideas and built me the van of my dreams. I live in Northern Ireland and David brought it over and delivered it to my door and showed me how to work all the gadgets inside. Afterwards, on my first trip, Daniel was my technical support, always there at the end of a whatsapp message. I had a really short snag list after being in the van for a few weeks, and Dan and Dave sorted them all out in a matter of hours. From sourcing the van, building it, delivering it, to helping me when I got stuck on my first trip, Dan and Dave have be superb and the quality of the build is on another level. Lovely finishing touches that I hadn't even thought about, but they did - and they included them. Even though I was in a different country, I got regular updates in the form of pictures and videos to show me the progress and we had regular Zoom calls to go discuss options or answer any questions I had. The distance wasn't an issue, so its not something that you need to worry about, if you aren't close to their workshop. You will still be part of the build process and you will still get to see progress on your van. If you are looking to get a van built, you need to speak to Dan and Dave, especially if you are looking something a little different. They were keen to get involved in something different and that enthusiasm lasted for the whole build. On a personal note, they are lovely, helpful and friendly guys, a real pleasure to work with - although lets face it - they did the heavy lifting on the work side! I will be continue to keep in touch with the guys as I want them to do some after care for me moving forward, check seals and connections etc - things do shake loose and seals do get old and crack. You never know, I may at some point come with another wacky idea that I want to implement - and I know they won't run away! Once to speak to them, you will know how passionate they are about what they do, and you will know that they will deliver exactly what you want to a standard that will exceed your expectations. My expectations were blown out of the water - I could not have asked for more. I've included some photos, so you can see some of the various stages of the build. Hopefully you will get inspired and reach out Born Wild Vans - you won't regret it - promise!
