“Chalmers Masonry were recommended to us by The Flat Roof Co., (who did a terrific job replacing our flat roof). Craig and his team (Grant & Jamie) are friendly, but professional. Initially, Craig visited our house to assess the whole building, as it has been neglected, built around 1880. Craig provided an overall assessment and we planned for the external walls to be repointed as a priority. The guys have done an amazing job - they started the work as planned, kept the site tidy, were quiet and polite, arrived each day as planned and on time, worked with care and diligence, and patiently explained what they were doing and how the work progressed. Craig's communication via text and email is excellent. The finished result is beautiful, the walls of our house look gorgeous. “Chalmers Masonry completed stoneworks at our terrace house in July 2025, see pics. The work involved: a complete replacement of the front door archway with new stone; full repointing across the front elevation; repair at rear ajoining wall to longstanding problem and previous poor works; and spot repointing at rear. All works carried out with careful attenton to detail and to the highest standard. We decided, mid-job, to additionally include replacement of an extra two stones in the door archway. This was incorporated into the works at additonal time, effort and financial risk to Chalmers. We were pleased to agree the additional (reasonable) cost. Chalmers also identified and carried out a couple of other repairs that were required. These were included in the original cost. All issues were discussed openly and in good humour with Craig Chalmers. Craig, and his team, Grant and Jamie, conducted themselves respectively and politely throughout the job, and tidied up after themselves at all times. Individually and collectively they were a pleasure to have working at the house.”
